Seeing President Obama’s new initiatives on permitting the Cuban-Americans unlimited travel to the neighbouring island nation of Cuba, as well as transfers of money to family has created an ambience of openness that has been warmly welcomed. The Cuban-Americans thus far known to be republican sympathizers have come to accept the new President as their man. In fact many Americans do feel the embargo should be lifted for other Americans as well. The revived interest in Cuba could augur well for the country’s economy as more and more people are taking advantage of the $500 return fare between Miami and Havana.
